The Power of Paradigms

Are you feeling frustrated? Do your goals float further and further away rather than coming any closer? There must be something holding you back? I am here to tell you that the only thing holding you back is the thoughts and beliefs you are hanging onto that are limiting you from reaching your potential.

Paradigms are based on the beliefs and habits that we have consciously or unconsciously chosen. Many of these paradigms are established at a young age or can be genetic or cultural. There is no right or wrong but they just are and as we get older they become the way we operate as we have been programmed by them. The wonderful thing is that we do have the ability to change this programming through replacing the non-productive thoughts and beliefs with ones that will enable us to achieve more positive results.

Let’s take a look at some of the limiting beliefs you may be experiencing. Perhaps you’re telling yourself that you are too old, or that you don’t have enough money to achieve your dreams, or perhaps you don’t have enough time. These are all common examples of the limiting beliefs that often hold us back.

The first stage in anything is to identify what the problem is, so take a long hard look at some of the beliefs you hold to see where you need to improve.

Now, replace those limiting beliefs with ones that benefit you. Change “I can’t” to, “I AM”. Change “I don’t have” to, “I am so happy and grateful that I have” etc.

Sometimes we get so absorbed in making excuses about how things didn’t turn out the way we had hoped or expected, that we forget to focus on making the best of every situation, no matter what the outcome.

Unfortunately, negativity can spread like a virus. A negative person can have a very adverse effect on your own wellbeing. It is always important to limit the impact of negative people or environments so take steps to establish boundaries and remember not to let their negativity seep into your life.

Don’t be afraid of what will happen if you fail or make a mistake, after some preparation, tell yourself that all is well. Understand that you’ll be okay no matter what happens. Failure is no big deal, learn from it and keep going.

If Thomas Edison hadn’t failed thousands of times, he might not have become America’s most well-known and prolific innovator.

No matter what paradigm that may be holding you back from achieving your dreams you have the ability to change it and achieve new results.

As with any change you are wishing to make you cannot just wish it to be better – you need to take action. To change a mindset, it takes focus and habitual repetition with a guide to keep you accountable for your actions. I can help you achieve this together with my mentor and coach – Bob Proctor.
